Job Description | Early Childhood Coordinator

Job Summary: The Early Childhood Coordinator is primarily responsible to work alongside the Director of Kids’ Ministries to ensure a safe, engaging learning for children 6 weeks old through preschool. This role is passionate about Christian spiritual formation of the next generation through age appropriate, Christ-centered worship and programming and partnering with families. Additionally, this position recruit, train, and develop volunteers to accomplish the goal above.

Qualifications:

  • Fulfills Saint Paul’s membership requirements as outlined in the membership covenant

  • Desires to embrace and involve all individuals in the congregation regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental ability, nationality, or economic class

  • Ability to uphold organizational values with a high level of integrity & maintain confidentiality

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

  • Easily adapts and responds to change

  • Ability to teach children about God in an age-appropriate fashion

  • Achieves personal work goals and objectives

  • Teaching experience; preferred

  • 1-3+years of working with children in an organizational setting

  • Must pass a background check

  • Availability to attend after hours children’s events and activities

Duties & Responsibilities, not limited to:

  • Recruit, train, lead, coordinate, and care for the early childhood volunteers

  • Plan, organize & execute early childhood programs, camps, services, and events

  • Communicate ministry needs with parents, the church, and leadership

  • Prepare curriculum and instructional resources that align with the vision and mission of Saint Paul’s

  • Assist in developing fun, inviting, and functional spaces for children.

  • Nurture and maintain relationships and rapport with parents

  • Complete various administrative tasks including, errands, copies, emails, scheduling, etc.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Status: Part-time, non-exempt

Schedule: Sun. 8:00am – 12noon, flexible hours according to needs of the church

Hours: 5 – 10 hrs./wk.

Reports to: Director of Kids’ Ministries
